JULIA MCINTOSH

Julia is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with a strong passion and commitment towards helping individuals and families live rich, rewarding and full lives. Her experience primarily lies in working with children, adolescents, young adults and families presenting with a wide range of difficulties including trauma, eating disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, anxiety/mood problems and neurodevelopmental disorders. Julia previously worked in the Maternal, Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (MICAMHS) in Tauranga and the Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service in the Hutt Valley. Julia is currently based in the Wellington region and is available to offer Supported Assessments for ACC sensitive claims, alongside lead therapists. She has ocassional availability to travel around New Zealand to complete supported assessments.
Julia has training, experience and skills using a wide range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Family Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Treatment for Eating Disorders (CBT-E). She places strong value on developing individualised treatment plans that specifically and effectively meet the needs of every individual and/or family she works with. Therapy is a collaborative process and Julia brings genuine authenticity into her work with all those she walks alongside.
Julia is registered with ACC and also welcomes ACC referrals for supported assessments.
